15 x 11" giclée print
Artist Ashley Norwood Cooper and ZINC contemporary are releasing a giclée print of the original painting "The Crying Men Are Comforted In The Arms Of The Divine Feminine (and also a beagle)" to raise money for the organization ALL ON THE LINE.
ALL ON THE LINE is a national campaign to restore fairness to our democracy and ensure every American has an equal say in our government.
All proceeds from the sale of these giclée prints will be donated to ALL ON THE LINE. The original painting was shown while exhibiting with ZINC contemporary during VOLTA New York 2020.
These giclée prints measure 15 x 11" using archival Epson inks on an archival Epson matte paper. Each will be shipped flat in a cardboard shipper. The prints are unsigned and not limited to an edition in order to donate as many funds as possible to ALL ON THE LINE.
About the painting:
“I first started thinking of paintings of crying men on the night of the horrible election – 2016. I was ranting and raving (that’s the kind of thing I do) but my husband was silent.
I looked over and reflected in the light of the television, I could see tears rolling down his face.
I had recently visited the Picasso Museum in Paris and had become interested in Dora Maar, how she moved Picasso to a political conscience – she inspired his crying woman paintings.
It took me a while to figure out exactly how “crying men” paintings would work. I think compassion is one of the hardest things for an artist to communicate today, but also one of the most important.”
